![]() ![]() ![]() I always feel like the guy in Slumdog Millionaire (and not just because sometimes I use “Jai Ho”)-you know how he had a story for why he knew the answer to all of the trivia questions? All the songs I use in my classes mean something to me-every single song has a story behind it. It’s the way you can’t get quite as amped about a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on white bread as you can about a gourmet three-cheese grilled cheese on homemade ciabatta. I can’t get excited about moving to a piece of music that I’m lukewarm about. Or dancing is the whole point of music? It’s hard to say, but I know that if I’m not in love with a song, I won’t use it in class. For me, music is the whole point of dancing.
